As intelligent agents, we design algorithms for machines to analyze their environment to learn or use knowledge to take actions maximizing the probability of successfully achieving their goals, which ought to be aligned with the public’s interests. This platform discusses the design of ‘ethical mechanisms’ for artificial moral judgments based on the “Tree of Life,” “Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil,” and the olfactory mechanism.
